may provide when visiting chestofcourage.com (“Website”) and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, processing, protecting, and disclosing that information.

  4. Provided by the User at any event where the Nonprofits participates.

  7. If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of Nonprofits, the recipients of our services, including participating physician and medical practice, or others.

VII. Accessing and Correcting Your Information

We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.

VIII. Your State Privacy Rights

This Website is intended for use by residents of the State of Michigan and companies transacting regular business in the State of Michigan. However, the Nonprofit recognizes that the Website may be accessed by Users residing in other U.S. States which may be subject to more stringent privacy rights granted by the individual state’s applicable privacy laws and regulations as further described below.

B. Connecticut, Utah, Virginia, and Colorado

  2. Access and delete certain personal information

  3. Data portability

  4. Opt-out of personal data processing for targeted advertising and sales

  5. Correct inaccuracies in their personal information, subject to the information’s nature processing purpose

  6. Opt-out of profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects

To appeal a decision regarding a consumer rights request, please provide the reasons for your appeal and provide all information as necessary requested by the Nonprofit in support of your request. You will receive a response within 30 calendar days.

IX. Data Security

We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. All information you voluntarily provide to us is stored on our secure servers. Any payment transactions are processed through Paypal and Venmo will be encrypted and subject to security measures controlled by their respective websites.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure.

Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to our Website. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Website.

It is our policy to review this Privacy Notice annually or as necessary to comply with applicable state or federal laws and statutes, or regulatory guidance. All changes will be posted to this Privacy Notice and effective as of the date they are published. XI. Donors

A. Information Collected. The Nonprofit collects and maintains the following types of information about our donors:

  1. Contact information, such as name, address, email, and telephone number;

  2. Giving information, including types and amounts of donations:

    a. The Nonprofit utilizes PayPal and Venmo for secure transactions, and Donor financial information provided to PayPal and Venmo for purposes of donation to the Nonprofit. Please refer to PayPal’s Privacy Statement and Venmo’s Privacy Policy.

    b. The Nonprofit does not have any access to financial information provided to PayPal for the purposes of donation to the Nonprofit.

    c. The Nonprofit does not disclose any financial information provided by our Donors, except for the proper processing of donations.

  3. Any other information provided by the Donor to the Nonprofit, such as testimonials, public comments, or posts on the Website.

All Donor Personal Information, other than financial information provided to PayPal or Venmo as described above, is subject to the terms of this Privacy Notice.

B. Methods of Collection. The Nonprofit collects and maintains Personal Information that donors provide to us when you:

  1. Contact us via phone, mail, or in person;

  2. Contact us via email, or any other electronic communication, or use of the Website;

  3. Make a contribution, either on our website, at an event, over the phone, or by mailing a check; or

  4. Navigate through our Website.

C. Purpose of Collection. Occasionally, we may collect Personal Information from Donors in ways not described in this Section, subject to your express consent and as outlined in this Privacy Notice. The Nonprofit collects and maintains Donor Personal Information to:

  1. Establish a relationship and communicate with you about the Nonprofit, including our programs, special events, and funding needs;

  2. Learn about our donors and what matters to you;

  3. Process donations and even registrations and issue tax receipts;

  4. Comply with all laws and regulations, including reporting requirements;

  5. Plan future fundraising activities and events; and

  6. Analyze giving patterns.

All Donor Personal Information is subject to this Privacy Notice.
